Richard Carlton is in charge of Education, Research and Program Development for the Lawyer Assistance Program of the State Bar of California.  He is also a consultant to the US Courts for the Ninth Circuit on matters of judicial stress and wellness.  His articles have appeared in the California Bar Journal, Judicature, and other legal publications.  He has been addressing mental health and disability concerns in the legal profession for over twenty years.  Richard holds a Masters Degree in Public Health from UC Berkeley, where his studies focused on treatment interventions and behavioral science research.
